Stories and Lives from the Fiber Arts

Join us for the opening of our next Art on the Fly exhibit Stories and Lives from the Fiber Arts

The pieces in this show offer a colorful look into Maryland’s fiber arts practices today, with a focus on natural materials like cotton, silk, wool, leather, and paper, which have passed through hands of skilled artisans and contemporary artists from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. Traditional fiber art techniques such as dyeing, knitting, quilting, stitching, and weaving are integrated with natural materials in the creation of artistic expressions of artists' living cultural traditions and life stories.
