My work explores the nature of memory, transformative and transitory states, and the act and language of making meaning.
Collage is very much a part of everyday human experience, of memory.
How we frame still moments, place emphasis on aspects and images. How we are drawn towards elements of texture, of color, of negative space, of the printed word, that resonate within us— and how we select and edit and reorient these elements again and again.
How in this silent process we develop a personal language of aesthetics— making meaning for ourselves, revealing the language we use to tell our stories.
About the Artist
J G Orudjev is a collage artist and painter living in Frederick MD.
She has a background in sculpture and printmaking, and is associated with the Twin Cities Collage Collective.
Her work is held in private collections in the United States and internationally.
She is a member at NOMA gallery, Frederick MD.
