Westminster Ringers is an auditioned non-profit advanced handbell ensemble, which plays advanced handbell repertoire at the highest possible level of musical sensitivity and technical clarity.
In addition, the ensemble seeks to advance the knowledge, awareness and viability of the art of handbell ringing beyond that normally available to members of volunteer church and school groups.
The Westminster Ringers perform on 7 octaves of Malmark handbells and 7 octaves of Malmark Choirchimes, as well as assorted percussion, keyboard and wind instruments.
Due to the nature of the ensemble, our repertoire can be vast in genre - classical, secular, original, holiday and sacred as well as many toe-tapping melodies.
The roots of handbell ringing are in the churches. As a community ensemble, we can expand the horizons to expand the secular repertoire by commissioning new original or arrangements of handbell repertoire.
Full concerts range from sixty (60) to ninety (90) minutes with or without an intermission.
Westminster Ringers, Inc. sponsors several workshops or festivals within the year. Individual handbell ringers/directors register for these one day or two day events that have a per person fee.
In addition to these sponsored workshops/festivals, Larry and Debbie Henning, founding members of Westminster Ringers, Inc., give many workshops for churches or schools as well as teach classes at the region and National handbell events. Workshops for churches or schools range from half day to full day workshops. Fees for these programs range from $350 to $1,500.
