Eligibility
This project is open to professional design teams (including designers, artists, architects, landscape designers, etc.) located in the United States. Lead designers must at least 18 years of age and be United States citizens. Employees of the State of Maryland are not eligible to apply.

Purpose
The Maryland 9/11 Memorial project will create a memorial on the plaza of the World Trade Center on Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. The memorial will honor the extraordinary heroism, commitment and sacrifice of the 9/11 victims and rescuers, and their families. It will provide a place of contemplation to reflect and remember.

Artifact
The memorial will incorporate a specific artifact, which has been selected from the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in NYC.  Images of the artifact are available for viewing at www.msac.org/artifact.
