Eligible organizations may receive NEA American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds through one source only – in Maryland, organizations may apply directly to the NEA or directly to the Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) or to the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation (MAAF). Applicants to the NEA must be previous NEA award recipients from the past four years. In order to get the funds to the field quickly, the NEA has fast-tracked the process. The NEA deadline is April 2, 2009, with grants being awarded as early as July 1, 2009. Please see the links below for details on the program and application instructions from the NEA. The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) has provided a fact sheet regarding arts opportunities in the Economic Stimulus Package that lists ten possibilities for funding other than the NEA. We have provided that list below for your information.
