The Maryland State Arts Council will hold three technical assistance grant workshops throughout the state for residents interested in applying for individual artist awards.

The Maryland State Arts Council Individual Artist Awards are grants awarded to Maryland artists through an anonymous, competitive process to encourage and sustain their pursuit of artistic excellence. FY 2009 Applications will be accepted in the following Artistic Categories:

  • Dance: Choreography
  • Music Composition
  • Playwriting
  • Poetry
  • Visual Arts: Crafts
  • Visual Arts: Photography
  • Visual Arts: Sculpture

The workshops will address the application process for the categories offered during FY 2009. All sites are wheelchair accessible and provide accessible parking. Sign language interpretation will be offered for the hearing impaired. The workshop schedule is as follows:

The MSAC Individual Artist Awards Program is administered by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation www.midatlanticarts.org. IAA applications and guidelines will no longer be printed and mailed. You must read or download them from the Internet. All Individual Artist Award applicants now have to submit applications using CueRate, an electronic grant application that allows you to submit your application via the Internet.
