The Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) recruits individuals to serve as Grant Review Panelists. Discipline-based panelists play a significant role in the grants process through their recommendations to MSAC. Nominees should have expertise in at least one grant category listed below (please limit to two categories), and familiarity with the field.
Children's Events (artistic experiences for young audiences)
Community Arts Development (grants for designated local arts councils in Maryland)
Folk & Traditional Arts
Panelists are required to review grant applications, conduct on-site interviews, artistic evaluations, and submit a written report on assigned organizations during the panel meeting deliberations. Panelists are appointed for a one-year term, which may be renewed. Any individual 18 years of age or older may be nominated. Panelists receive a modest honorarium for serving.
Submit completed nomination forms by email with an attached resume or brief bio of the nominee to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please type the name of the nominee and “Grant Review Panelist” in the subject line. Self nominations are accepted. You may duplicate this form as necessary.
