AiR program helps schools offer intensive arts workshops

March 27, 2013Arts Across Maryland

The Maryland State Arts Council's Artist-in-Residence Program provides schools with the opportunity to offer hands-on intensive arts workshops for a small core group of students and teachers over a period of days or weeks.

Interested schools should browse the program's Roster of Artists, a database of Maryland artists who were chosen to participate in the Artist-in-Residence program based on a record of artistic excellence and the ability to work with students and faculty in a school environment. The MSAC's Artist-in-Residence program covers half the cost of an artist residency, with the school covering the remaining half.

To Apply:

The online application for a residency during the 2013-2014 school year is open. The deadline to apply online in eGrant is May 17, 2013. The deadline to postmark/mail a hardcopy of the application (signed by site coordinator and principal) is May 24, 2013. MSAC must receive both the online application and the signed hard copy for the application to be complete. For more information, visit the Artist-in-Residence page or email Program Director Chris Stewart.
