Born in Iowa in 1945, Miller has spent most of his life following the creative endeavors which brought him to the decision to become a full time, professional artist in 1990. Working exclusively in various grades of graphite, he portrays his personal experiences, whether they be in the field or in the studio, through delicate line work, rough textural contrasts and the interplay of light and shadow. Miller has traveled throughout this country as well as distant lands, especially the plains and rain forests of Africa, gathering the memories, reference and inspiration that ultimately become the basis for all his works. He has garnered numerous awards and his works have been included in internationally recognized exhibitions and can be found in private and corporate collections across the globe. Unknown Bridges', a recent solo exhibition, spotlighted Miller's desire to focus on and feature bridge structures and their abstract qualities. He also contributed more than a dozen images to the recently published book, 'Where Elephants Go To Die'.
