Artist Statement

I love color and texture and use these as the focus of my fiber work. Most of my work uses hand dyed yarn, fleece or fabric as the source of inspiration. Artist Bio

Roz Houseknecht has been weaving since 1975. Her work has evolved to include wearable art, Judaica, hand-dyed yarn and jewelry. The woven fabric emphasizes color and structure with the use of hand-dyed yarns. Recent work has been creating wearables using a variety of felting techniques. Roz works with individuals to design custom tallitot (prayer shawls) and clothing. Her tallitot have been shown throughout the United States and Canada.
