Artist StatementMs. Lachmans sculpture investigates essential elements: air, water and earth. Shapes of pods and husks and hulls recur throughout her work. She thinks of her work as petroglyphs in three dimensions. Words such as tactile, encrusted, membrane and sprouting are called to mind. Despite the abstract nature of her sculpture, it retains a feeling of warmth and humanity.
