Artist Bio

Nanny Trippe has had a love for photography since a young age. What began as recording of pets and nature developed into a love of composition. “When composition, light and shadow, color and texture come into balance, it is an exciting thing. I love to spot something-be it a building, a tree or a moment in time that encompasses all these elements. “

Trippe has studied and created photographs through high school at St. Timothy’s School in Baltimore,  college at Denison University in Ohio and Richmond College in London, England. She joined the Tidewater Studios in 2009 and has exhibited in Lexington, Virginia as well as local art shows. In December 2010,  she and painter Don Hilderbrandt opened Trippe-Hilderbrandt Studios on Harrison Street in Easton.  Her photo #2 Door won the Best Black and White, Best Amateur and Best in Show in the 2009 Plein Air Easton Photography Contest and is published in the “Best of Photography 2010” by Photographer’s Forum Magazine. Subsequent photographs have been published in “Best of Photography 2011” and each successive year to date. In 2013 her image “Available Seating” won the Tidewater Camera Club Award for Excellence in Photography at the Academy Art Museum Annual Member Show. In 2014-2015 she has been juried into 3 shows at The Maryland Federation of Art.  In December 2016, her exhibit "Trees:Majesty and Mystery" opened at the Art Academy in Easton, Maryland in the Selections Gallery. She is a many generations native of the Eastern Shore and has a true love for the area and capturing its uniqueness.
