An obsession with human nature and sentimentality drives my current research interests. For the past year I have been working with found, used, or otherwise rejected objects. Traditionally loaded materials such as candy wrappers, wedding dresses, and furniture are broken down into their most basic units and rebuilt as formal sculptural installations. These works question how objects acquire meaning by confronting the viewer with a reconfigured view of their component parts. The process of deconstruction and reconstruction is systematic and labor intensive, denying the object's original purpose but in the same breath restoring dignity to the raw material.
