Artist StatementFor me one of the joys of life is photography, nature/ landscape photography in particular. Unlike other artistic mediums, photography as the ability to capture a brief moment in time. In 2008, I’ve begun a self-assignment in capturing Southern Maryland’ life, the old, the overlooked landscapes and the changes for good or bad with my camera. My goal is to have my works displayed so that others can appreciative the uniqueness of Southern Maryland.
I have enjoyed photography for 50 years. In the military for five years and a Zookeeper for 25 years of those 50 years. I started out shooting 35mm film and then large format ten years later. Shoot mostly digital since 2008, but I still enjoy using large format when the subject calls for it. One of my joys of life is capturing a pre-visualized image and then seeing it on print. Southern Maryland landscapes and still lifes are my primary photographic quests today. I would like to explore more of western Maryland and the eastern shore in the near future.
