MSAC Individual Artist Award (IAA)2016, 2012
Artist StatementConceptually and aesthetically, my approach to photography has followed a circuitous path, with methods drawn from painting, drawing, conceptual art, installation art, and documentary traditions. The size of my prints is often quite large, although the processes used are always photographic in nature (analog and/or digital). Because my work cannot easily be categorized, it often does not rest comfortably within the world of traditional photography. Despite this, my work is consistently conceptually and materially bound up in the photographic: through process, concept, or form.
