Summer Studio Inc. Louise Hillman Bounds Fine Art Some themes I think about when painting are intuitively spontaneous, a primordial sense of inter-connectedness through mythological and archetypal symbols. I project an inner world, imagined landscapes, the essence of an emotion, person, object, landscape as well as the energy of that metaphysical interaction, deconstructing moments that are in flux or in continuum and transcendence. I paint on large and medium canvases in Acrylic paint. Painting landscapes, abstract, the natural world and figures. Consequently, I am inspired by artists such as Matisse, Cezanne, Manet, Van Gogh, Kandinsky, O’Keefe, Frankenthaler, Rothko and the Wyeths. Since the early 1990’s, my paintings were of the lyrical abstraction style expressing the artists emotions. Using wild brush strokes and intense layering of colors, I hoped to evoke a response from the viewer of having been struck and then having absorbed something. You can take it in for that moment but I want there to be a pause in your world. While you contemplate the meaning, aesthetics, design and experience of the painting. An imprint. I want it to converge with you for a moment, to be part of your world and have meaning in your world as it does in mine to make it. My paintings are like a conversation between myself and you, the viewer, that is deeply informed by an inner world. In my current works, I am exploring the physical world but continuing with the hidden and metaphorical themes. Focusing on Fauvist style, Post Impressionistic style as well as Lyrical Abstraction. I am finding a new way of seeing below the surface that allows the painting to be experienced in multiple ways.Artist Bio
