Artist StatementI believe my work reflects a world where all is connected in a moments of awe, recognition of the value and harmony of each precious object, reverence for the idea, respect for animal, plant, people. Noting the fractures and ripples but choosing the symphony and celebration.
Linda Constant Robinson, born in New Orleans, majored in fine art at the University of Southwestern Louisiana; received a BA in Fine Art and Arts Administration from Rider University, NJ; and completed a fellowship in arts administration at Harvard Business School. She was Director of Programs for the New Jersey State Council on the Arts; National coordinator for the Folk Artists in Schools at the National Endowment for the Arts; Director of the Hunterdon Art Museum, Clinton, NJ and the founding Director of the James A. Michener Art Museum, Doylestown, PA. She led the conversion and restoration of these sites into accredited well respected art museums producing major art exhibitions highlighting artists of the region and nationally and a multitude of art programs.
Since moving to Frederick MD, she has refocused her energy and attention to her own work and has painted full time for the last 14 years producing a body of work. Her work is expressive in color and composition using still life, figurative and lyrical abstractiion. She has shown in Frederick at various art galleries and the Delaplaine Art Center and Hagerstown at the Washington County Museum of Fine Art, and Shepherdstown, WVA and previously in NJ, AR, and LA.
