Artist Statement

My goal is to create art that earns a mind's attention and curosity, if only for a moment. For in that moment, the imagination is nudged to work in a manner that can lead to self gratification.

Artist Bio

I live with my husband in Carroll County, Maryland where we have successfully raised three beautiful children, of whom we are very proud.  I took a step back from my artwork while our children were young, only to turn my focus back on painting once they grew up.  I returned to school and earned a B.A. in Studio Art in 2013 at the University of Maryland College Park.  While there, I learned many new skills and techniques that I am very excited to explore further.  I do some woodworking and work with pastels and mixed media, but my passion is working with acrylics.  Rather than working within any one genre, I enjoy painting a wide range of subjects such as still-life, animals, landscapes, or animation.  I equally enjoy using different styles such as impressionism, traditional, realism, collaging and photo transfers.  Irregardless of which approach I employ for a piece, I like to implant the suggestion of an event or story; a presence of life interaction.  I like to encourage the viewers' imaginations to create their own scenario thus personalizing and enhancing the experience.  I create art for the enjoyment of others.
