Artist Statement

Limited edition sculptures done by the cire perdue method of bronze casting. Specialty in portraiture, animalier or human.

Artist Bio

After seeing the Nike de Samothrace as a teenager, Jean creates her sculptures in the classical tradition in small limited editions. The molds are destroyed after the edition is complete to assure the client that no unauthorized copies are cast.

Jean was first influenced by French artists when she lived in St Paul de Vence as a youth. Local artists were Chagall, renoir, Matisse and Picasso.  She remembers seeing the Merce Cunningham dancers performing among the Giacommetti sculptures at the Maeght Foundation Museum. She tries to put this same passion into each of her contemporary bronze creations.
