Artist StatementIn my photography IV class, I got to experiment with Holgas (plastic lens and pinhole) cameras which led me to do double images of objects that while they seem unrelated, they come together in order to convey a feeling or story within. Going with traditional means rather than digital, I worked on my pinhole images in order to give a dream-like essence to my images within this collection. The collection has been coined as the double image dream sequence - often accentuating the non-related and often complicated messages that lurk within our dream life.
Starting in 1986 when I bought my first Pentax K1000, I began taking pictures on the weekends and after school at the suggestion of a friend. He was in photography class at VCU and taught me about composition within photography. Since then, I have concentrated on Fine Art as well as Rock (music industry) photography - taking pictures of bands I worked with over the years as well as friends in the industry. My love of photography grew to the point where I decided to go back to school and get a Bachelors in Fine Art concentrating in Photography. My plan is to attend a reputable Masters in Fine Art Program after December 2010.
