Artist StatementHand cutting paper expresses my interest in pattern, movement, and the natural world. The twisting, expanding, contracting, fast and slow marks represent the movement and energy found in currents of air, water and smoke. By controlling the shape and size, the static cuts speed up and slow down as they move around within the boundaries of the papers edge and in some instances escape completely.
