Greg McBride is the author of Porthole (Liam Rector First Book Prize for Poetry Briery Creek Press, 2012) and Back of the Envelope (Southeast Missouri State University Press, 2009). His work appears in Bellevue, Boulevard, Gettysburg Review, Harvard Review Online, River Styx, Southern Poetry Review, and Salmagundi. His awards include the Boulevard Emerging Poet prize and a Maryland grant in poetry. He is founding editor of Innisfree Poetry Journal.
In his earlier life, he practiced law at the U.S. Department of Transportation for thirty years, and earlier yet, he served as an officer in the U.S. Army for four years, including one year in Vietnam as chief of the Army's medical photography team. He is a graduate of Princeton University and Georgetown Law.
