Gayle Mangan Kassal applies unique realism and a keen sense of color in her imagery. Her artwork has transformed ordinary spaces into vibrant floral gardens or exotic jungles.
Since 1996, various corporations, restaurants, schools, hospitals and private residences nationwide have enhanced their spaces with Gayle’s colorful murals or fine art pieces designed with her playful imagination and masterful skills. Her pastels have won numerous awards including “Best in Show” at the Mitchell Gallery, St. John’s College. Her clients include Children’s National Medical Center, Washington DC, Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Providence RI, Boston Medical Center, Boston MA and Newport Grand Casino, Newport RI. In every project, she creates unique environments specific to the needs and desires of each client.
After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Magna Cum Laude, from Salve Regina University in 1990, Gayle continued to pursue her passion of art. In 1996 she earned her Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, formerly Swain School of Art. Gayle then instructed in several universities before moving to Annapolis MD. In 2003, she began teaching at Anne Arundel Community College before starting a family. She is currently a signature member of the Maryland Pastel Society and is a member of the Maryland Federation of Art.
As a full time mother of two, Gayle has enjoyed the excitement generated by her young children, a reminder of the simple treasures in life. For that reason, she strives artistically to “freeze frame” colorful moments, capturing abounding movement and energy, expressing genuine joy and passion.
