Artist StatementSomeone, I don’t remember who, once said that if he could write about his photographs, he wouldn’t have to take the picture in the first place. That pretty much sums up the way I feel about my art. My images are not only a method of self-expression, but a way of sharing my feelings about the subjects that attract my eye. I am especially drawn to textures and patterns, both those found in the natural word and as parts of man-made objects. The attraction may be in color, shapes, lines, light or a combination thereof. It matters not that you share my own emotions and thoughts, but that I am able to provoke and stir yours.
My lifelong love of photography began in childhood and I still remember my first Kodak Brownie camera with great fondness. I came fairly late to the world of digital single lens reflex (DSLR) cameras, but have now fully embraced it as my own and have joined the Canon family of fine imaging.
The Eastern Shore of Maryland is my home, where I divide my time between Cambridge and Ocean City, and share my life with my husband, Norm, and our Yellow Lab, Sam.
