Georgia O’Keeffe once said "I decided that the only thing I could do that was nobody else's business was to paint. I could do as I chose because no one would care." I believe that the ability to feel is innate in us all, but the ability to express is often learned. Judgment from the outside world often limits our expression and the freedom to be one's self, but I have learned through my paintings to define my own personal freedom. Painting is my rally against the heaviness of the world; it is my fight for self -- a place where I may do as I choose because no one cares.
