Artist StatementI pursue art making as analysis in an effort to experiment without hypothesis. My methodology has developed directly out of a sensual relationship to material as well as a psuedo-scientific investigation of phenomena. I work by collecting scraps of various non-art and fine art materials, from discarded plastic packaging to printmaking paper. These materials become the basis of playful and poetic formal arrangements as my studio practice becomes means of sorting out, both materially and conceptually. The resultant objects and installations serve as documents of this process.
