Artist StatementMy work is an on going study of creating space. While I do create works of social commentary, I prefer to exist in the abstract. I want the viewer to be engaged either by actively moving around the work or by evoking some emotion thru color and line.
After attending Kent State University, I became part of the booming art community in my hometown of Canton, Ohio. I completed my internship at The Canton Museum of Art and became an Out Reach instructor under the Heartland Grant for 8 years. Most of the classes, covering 3 counties, were with kid’s grades k-12 with behavior and learning disorders. I have also been a board member of the Big Sandwich Artists Collective located in Canton. I have participated in many city events as well as shown in several galleries in and around the area including Cleveland, Ohio. I am a recent transplant to Baltimore and am looking forward to similar involvement in the art community.
