Artist Bio

Annette Uroskie has been an Art teacher and practicing artist for forty-five years. A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University (BA Art Education) and The Maryland Institute of Art (M FA) she taught Art for five years in the public school system of Anne Arundel County and twenty-three years at The Key School in Annapolis in the Upper School and as head of the Visual Art Department. Initially a printmaker she won many awards and had one woman and group shows in the Baltimore area. She was in the Baltimore Museum of Art Biennial as well as the Peale Museum, Easton Academy of the Arts permanent collection, and Virginia Art League. Her second media was batik, which she sold prolifically in the area. Doing shows like Sugarloaf and the Annapolis Arts Festival as well as many others, she sold her work between teaching positions. Most recently she has been experimenting in digital photography and photoshopped pictures in mixed media as well as experimenting with watercolor on some new papers including Yupo. She has been Vice-president of the Annapolis Watercolor Club and received three first place awards and an honorable mention for the last four years in the Annapolis Watercolor Club Juried shows. She also was Juried into the Baltimore Watercolor Society Mid Atlantic Regional Show In 2017. She is Exhibition coordinator for the Digital Photo Club of Annapolis, and has won many awards in their juried shows. Her work can be seen on Flickr under Annette’s Art.
