Artist StatementAbout Ada’s Art: I’m attracted to simple shapes and colors; this is my guide when creating two and three dimensional environments. Form repetition for me reflects the mysteries of design, and more deeply our need to understand our own reverberating nature. My goal is to develop fully my perceived tussle with balance and connection, and to continue feeding my color addiction. For me creative gratification is the achievement of balance within, without, and all around. Staying artistically comfortable is not an option; I strive towards experimentation and staying open to different expressions and topics. About Ada Ghuman
Ada was hooked on art when at the age of 16 she submitted to a Call to Artists for a NYC subway marketing poster. Working on that piece, having it hang at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, honor mentioned and winning a price was a trilling experience for her.
She continued her arts education in Washington D.C. and at the Duke Ellington School for the Arts and at Montgomery College in Takoma Park with a focus on Art History and Painting. Intermediately she attended classes at the Corcoran School of Art and interned for other artists.
Currently she continues to paint and experiment with different topics and mediums. She shows her art in different venues and galleries in the Maryland area.
She is also President of the Laurel Arts District Committee. Working closely with local businesses she leads the promotion of artists, art events and exhibit in her community of Old Town Laurel. She sits on the board of the Laurel Art Guild.
