Abigail Palmer covers many different genres of music and likes to think outside of the box. She began playing celtic harp in 1999 and recorded her first original composition at age fourteen.
At age seventeen, Abigail travelled to Scotland to compete in the Scottish Mod and received third place in the advanced level harp competition. She then went on to pursue pedal harp as her primary instrument at Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia. In 2012, she recorded her first full length album of original music called Sow Hope, which features her on electric and acoustic harp, vocals, percussion, and piano. Abigail is a board certified music therapist and has worked with hospice care, psychiatric hospitals, autism, dementia and Alzheimer's, and traumatic brain injury. She also has been teaching harp and piano since 2007. Abigail performs regularly with two musical groups; playing general percussion with the Drum Runners, and electric harp and vocals with her all originals band Sow It Goes. She also regularly performs celtic and renaissance music with her family and has been featured at the Maryland Renaissance Festival since 1996. With her group Sow It Goes, which encompasses all her original music, she writes progressive and thoughtful lyrics and intricate melodies to be played hand in hand with electric guitar. Overall Abigail is a dynamic, eclectic and thoughtful performer who has a lot to offer an audience.
