Writer, educator, and Emily Dickinson-performing artist MiMi Zannino helps children and adults express themselves through poetry, creative writing, and theatre monologue. A 2014 Chautauqua Scholar/Actor, Mimi wrote the script and portrays the American poet, Emily Dickinson, in a solo play that features the poems, letters and updated biography of the historical literary figure. A poet-in-residence since 1989, MiMi offers workshops that help students to think creatively and to convey their feelings through the written and spoken word. She has authored articles. essays, and books, including "Poetry Rings," for budding writers to co-author, and "Keeping Memories Alive," a grief-assistance activity book. She was the coordinator for the Poetry Out Loud program, and is a life-long Maryland resident, graduate of Towson University, Johns Hopkins University, and Teaching Artist Institute programs.
