Lara Payne has been teaching creative writing in the schools, in hospitals, and at the college level since 2000. She has enjoyed working with diverse students and teachers in New York City, Washington DC, and Maryland. After working as an archeologist, she earned her MFA from New York University. She has been a resident of the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and a semi-finalist for the Nation/Discovery Award. Poems have been published in various journals, most recently lines+stars and The Mom Egg Review. She believes that every person has the capacity to be a poet and an artist.
