FOLLOW THE VOICE to an artist that has the willpower and talent to influence a generation. Tamara Wellons is a singer, songwriter, performer, and educator who sings from her heart and mesmerizes audiences with her unyielding yet commanding vocals and hypnotic blend of soul, jazz and soulful house varieties. This 2012 MSAC Individual Artist Award Recipient and Prince George's 2013 Who's Who (PG Suite Magazine) hones her skills through live performances at numerous venues, including the prestigious Jazz Caf' in London.

Tamara has released two full length soul jazz albums (Life Is, Songs for Janie) and over 10 singles in the house music genre. Her song Oh Well remains a playlist favorite in house clubs from Baltimore to Greece. In 2011, Tamara released EP In My Lifetime, which yielded crossover success into the World Music genre. Songs for Janie (2012), an introspective, empowering concept album is a melodic epilogue between Tamara and the novel's main character, Janie of Zora Neale Hurston's literary classic Their Eyes Were Watching God.

Tamara performed music from Songs for Janie alongside prize-winning author Alice Walker (The Color Purple) in September, 2012 and before a sold-out audience at the 2013 DC Black Theater Festival production of Somethin' Like Eatonville, An Acoustic Ode to Janie.
