The Maryland Department of Commerce is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director of the Maryland States Art Council.

MSAC will begin accepting nominations for 2022 Maryland Heritage Awards on Wednesday, September 1st.

As MSAC staff begin revisions to the Folklife Apprenticeship and Heritage Award programs, we need editors from across the state!

The Grants for Organizations (GFO) program provides general operating support to nonprofit organizations, as well as units of government, that produce or present ongoing arts programming that is open to the public.

July 14, 2021 -- Based on public feedback, MSAC will spend the next year soliciting additional constituent participation in the building of the Independent Artist Network (IAN), a proposed artist employment initiative that would have affected Arts in Education program schedules in the coming year.

June 23, 2020 -- MSAC’s Independent Artist Awards (IAAs) recognize achievement by Maryland artists making work independent of an institution or organization. The awards are accompanied by grants of $2,000, $10,000, and $15,000 that encourage artistic growth and sustained practice.
