Due Date: EXTENDED TO AUGUST 12, 2009

The Maryland State Arts Council (MSAC) is currently recruiting individuals to serve as Grant Review Panelists. Discipline-based panels play a significant role in the grants process through their recommendations to MSAC.

Nominees should have expertise in at least one grant category listed on the Grant Review Panel Nomination Form, and familiarity with the field. Panelists read and evaluate grant applications, conduct on-site interviews and artistic evaluations of assigned organizations, and submit written reports on assigned organizations. They are also required to attend a general orientation meeting and a one or two-day panel meeting at the MSAC offices in Baltimore.

Panelists are appointed for one year terms, which may be renewed twice. Any individual 18 years of age or older may be nominated. Panelists receive a modest honorarium for serving.
