John (Jack) Rasmussen
John (Jack) Rasmussen was Founding Director and Curator of the American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center. In Virginia, he was curator of King Abdulluh Cultural Hall museum interpreting the History and Culture of Saudi Arabia. There he worked with a design firm and the Saudi Arabian Cultural Ministry on nine-month project. At the di Rosa Preserve: Art & Nature, Napa, CA, he was Executive Director of this non-profit museum of contemporary art. He also was Executive Director of the non-profit Maryland Arts Center, serving the Mid-Atlantic region. Jack was Executive Director of the Metropolitan Center for the Visual Arts in Rockville. He helped design, open, operate and fund the non-profit arts center. His other positions include arts directorships at Council for Basic Education, American University, the Jack Rasmussen Gallery and Washington Project for the Arts. Plus several other art-related positions in the Washington D.C. area.
