Maryland’s diverse artistic culture has something to offer everyone interested in experiencing the arts, as an audience member, artist, student, volunteer or patron. A recent state-wide survey of the arts shows nearly 90% of Maryland residents are engaged observers of art, having attended live musical performances, live theater or dance, art festivals or events, and museums or galleries over the past year, and 84% create art either professionally or in their spare time. These astounding statistics demonstrate that Maryland supports a thriving artistic community and is dedicated to the arts. On the left menu, click on In My Community to see a list of arts calendars that show upcoming performances, workshops and exhibitions in your area. You can also browse through the Artists’ registries and rosters to see individual Maryland artists’ profiles and works. The Arts Organizations in Maryland and County Arts Council tabs take you to the websites of arts organizations where arts happen every day. The arts are integrated into every part of life - experience it all.
