Artist Statement

Pooja is a contemporary painter who lives and works in the Washington D.C metro area. She was born and raised in Bangalore, India. Her primary focus is women and deals with issues of relationships, perceptions and consciousness. How do we perceive ourselves when we are alone, and how does that change when we are in the presence of others? With social media today, the concept of beauty has become a very external notion.
