Artist Statement

"To me, the elements of a successful photograph incorporates all the arts, which is something I strive for and find joyfully challenging." Palma is a largely self taught, versatile photographer with a background in music and art, a BS in Interdisciplinary Art and education, and a certificate in computer graphics. Beginnings in the darkroom have lead to photojournalism, events, portraits and commercial work. Since 1995 she has been licensing imagery to graphic artists, editors, and through stock photo agencies. Palma has worked with alternative, traditional and digital photography methods. Artist Bio

Palma Allen is an award winning photographic artist.In addition to fine art work, she licenses imagery to book publishers and graphic artists. Her educational background includes music and visual art, and she holds a degree in Interdisciplinary Application of the Arts. Aside from photography she studies classical piano. Her work has been exhibited in a number of galleries in NY, MA and MD including The Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, The Cultural Arts Center, The Artists Gallery, MAP, The Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center and is in various business establishments and private collections on the eastern coast. Palma is a member of The Artists Gallery in Frederick MD.
