Artist Bio

Nate Brown is a graduate of Cornell University and the MFA program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has worked at Random House as an editorial assistant; at The L Magazine where he founded the book reviews page; and at the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa. From the fall of 2012 until the fall of 2014, he served as the Deputy Director of the PEN/Faulkner Foundation in Washington, DC. During the 2014-2015 school year, he worked to expeand PEN/Faulkner's Writers in Schools program to Baltimore City high schools. Currently, he is the managing editor of American Short Fiction magazine and he teaches English at Stevenson University and creative writing at George Washington University. 

His fiction has appeared or is forthcoming in Iowa Review, Mississippi Review, Carolina Quarterly, Five Chapters, REAL, Wag's Revue, and elsewhere. He has alos written reviews, essays, and has preformed interviews for LitHub, Publisher's Weekly, Diagram, Barrelhouse, and other publications. He lives in Baltimore.
