Artist Statement

I have been using cameras since the age of 10 and doing darkroom work since the age of 16. I prefer real locations over studio work and authentic artifacts as my props whenever possible. I have traveled extensively and have shot in the UK, the European continent as well as the US Mainland and Hawaii. I enjoy capturing images of nature, architecture and in the last several years have been shooting with models to create fine art images. I come up with ideas which might involve androids, forest faeries and often find locations in abandoned hospitals or factories and gather people to be characters in a story. I have sources for vintage costumes, cars, aircraft and weapons and often try to create historical themed images which might very well be real – but from a parallel universe. I’ve worked in broadcasting for 20 years and have done work as an audio engineer. I occasionally shoot HD video with a Canon 5D to record musician friends. I also shoot stills on location or in studio settings with my subjects surrounded by pro audio gear, some of which I use to record them. Thank you for looking at my profile.
