Artist StatementI work in a variety of media, and stretch my style to achieve any idea I need to express. Working in mixed media allows me the freedom to use found objects as details in a landscape, I am allowed to play with words, shells, string and broken glass as if they were the classic elements of traditional painting. When I embroider; I use the yarn as if it were paint, continuing the painterly effects developed by the Impressionists, in a different medium. I paint in water color to stay one step ahead of my students. It is a relaxing medium when I forget about them, and just paint because I love it. It is endless in it's possibilities.
