Artist StatementWhat I enjoy most about being an artist is creative exploration. Seeing something and then exploring different possibilities for its interpretation. Examining it from different perspectives. I feel that my artwork does just that. I want my viewer to not only experience the places I have been and the things I have seen, but see it from a different point of view. That is why I have felt it imperative to learn and utilize a multitude of artistic medium. Not everything says” paint me” to me. Sometimes its “spend the time, see me and draw me” or “photograph me from this angle.” After experiencing any of my works I hope the viewer leaves with thought and emotion. A thought maybe of “wow I never would have thought of that” or any emotion response- empowerment, sensuality, anything. Life is a journey. It is a path meant for us to explore and experience. Successes and failures are all part of that process, but boy is the ride fun as an artist!
