Kelly Heck grew up in Maryland and earned her Photography BFA at Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia. Her interest in art grew into a concentration of photography at an early age, and she has practiced it as a career ever since. Kelly began her photographic experience as a teenager with an interest in fine art and continued to self-refine her skills. She independently focused on her personal work through freelancing and displaying in local galleries. She also experienced business aspects of portraiture at a small photo shop in her hometown, where she worked for over five years as a photographer. Kelly was awarded College Photographer of the Year in fall 2007, and shortly after won a place in the PDNedu Student Competition. Her position granted her publication in the PDNedu Magazine spring issue the following year.
