Artist Statement

Justin Fair’s dry media drawings phrase dark themes with an optimistic silver lining. With a rich palette of innate tones and textures, he explores primal human concepts and their application to everyday scenes. Concepts surround accepting vulnerability. Specifically, showcasing joy through interaction and capturing isolation in space. His work is autobiographical, and encourages invigoration or justifies rest through discipline. If expressed with discipline, accepting vulnerability can become celebrated, for discipline grounds oneself. With discipline comes reason, with reason comes coping, and with coping comes moving onward. Mr. Fair strives to demystify and exhibit this challenge.
