Artist StatementMy art is an ongoing exploration of the complexities within gay male sexuality. The work is an honest approach to the challenges and growth of being an open, sex positive gay male for the last 20 something years. Being an openly gay man who has always enjoyed a full sexual life, it has not been without the internal and external pressures of homophobia and disease. I try to balance this reality with images of openly gay men who seek to live a fulfilling sexual life. I have tried to counter balance the harsher realities of my existence with a romantic down home feeling that is not always afforded to gay male sexuality.
