Artist Bio

Jae Ko was born in south Korea in 1961. 

Ko works predominantly in the medium of sculpture, including some large scale installations. Ko completed an MFA at the Maryland Institute Collage of Art in Baltimore in 1998 and BA a at the Wako University in Japan in 1988. Ko has received the Anonymous was a Woman and the Pollock-Krasner Foundation award and many other awards.

She has had many solo shows in US, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Canada, Japan. Ko's last solo show was at the Contemporary Art Museum Houston.

She is represented in the collection of the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden and the Phillips Collection, among many other institutions.

Ko is the newly appointed "Paper Biennial 2017" at the CODA Museum in Netherlands.

She lives and works in St. George Island, St. Marys County, MD
