Artist Statement

"The artist's role is to see and feel the world; to document and pass on his observations, using his tools--i.e. words, music, paint, clay, etc.--in such a way that others might see and feel what they are passing by."

Artist Bio

George Murrill began painting in San Antonio, Texas, during the early sixties, under the direction of Fronzell Spellman. At that time he also attended San Antonio College. In the late sixties and early seventies he studied art at the College of Art and Technology in Cambridge, England. He received his art degree from Hood College in 1978. Mr. Murrill paints abstract, realistic and impressionistic works, from small-sized to murals, in many mediums. He is innovative, always striving to put more internal light into his paintings.
