Artist Bio

Dwayne Franklin (born Vacaville, California, 1960) is a painter and photographer living in the Baltimore/Washington area. His work appears in public and private collections and have been exhibited in group and solo exhibitions throughout the mid-Atlantic region. He first came to Baltimore as a Thalheimer Scholarship recipient in 1981, and received a BFA in Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1985. In 2010, after what had initially been a reluctant return to the city, he turned to the camera, using it as a vehicle to reconcile his own conflicting perceptions of the city.
