From my earliest memories, I have been compelled to express myself creatively. In the spring of 2000 I entered the professional world as an arts and craft designer and author. During this period, I authored three books and was published in magazines and professional publications. I enjoyed working in the design world but became increasingly interested in transitioning to fine art. In 2006, I began earnestly working in watercolors and have since expanded that interest to include oil painting and pastels. My desire to grow and improve as an artist has led me to a daily painting commitment. My interest in photography increased as a result of photographing potential compositions for future painting reference. Today, along with my paintings, I show my photography and digital artwork professionally as well as teach watercolor painting in my home studio/classroom. Currently, my favorite genres are portraiture and figural works as well as nature studies in oils and watercolor. Creating a likeness of a person is so very rewarding and so completely captivates my interest. I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and work daily in my studio.
